AFAB: Assigned Female At Birth (when medical professionals check the “F” box)
AMAB: Assigned Male At Birth (when medical professional checks “M” box)
Trans*: any individual under the trans- umbrella (transgender, transsexual, etc.)
Transmasculine: Someone who identifies as male, but was not labelled by society as such.
Passing: Being seen as cisgendered; people not knowing/guessing an individual is trans*
Cis-gendered (cis): Being assigned a letter at birth (M/F) that matches how you feel. Basically, it’s when your assigned gender and your gender identity match up.
Assigned Gender: The letter box (M/F) medical professionals check off when you’re born.
Gender Identity/Orientation: The gender you identify as (M/F/anything goes)
Sexual Identity/Orientation: Who you are attracted to (M/F/Anything goes)
Aromantic: Not having romantic feelings for other individuals.
Asexual: A lack of sexual attraction to other individuals.
